Training & Skill Development at Kavin Ecogreen

Empowering Communities through Sustainable Coir Innovation

At Kavin Ecogreen, our Training and Skill Development Program is designed to empower farmers, rural artisans, and aspiring entrepreneurs by offering in-depth knowledge and hands-on training in banana and plantain-based coir product manufacturing.

Banana Fiber Mat weaving Training

After harvesting banana fruits, pseudostems are collected and processed to extract fibers, which are then cleaned, sun-dried, and softened. For colored mats, fibers are dyed naturally and dried properly.

Using handlooms or semi-automatic looms, artisans weave the fibers into mats by interlacing warp and weft threads. The final product is trimmed, quality-checked, and pressed for a smooth finish before packaging.

Duration: 3Days

Banana Fiber Crafts Training

After harvesting, banana pseudostems—typically discarded—are collected for sustainable fiber extraction. The stems are peeled and processed through machines to separate long fibers, which are sun-dried to retain quality.
The dried fibers are cleaned and softened, then dyed with natural, chemical-free colors if needed. Artisans handcraft them into mats, bags, and decorative items using traditional methods. Final products are polished, quality-checked, and export-ready.

Duration: 5Days, 5 Products

Banana Bark Crafts Training

The process starts with collecting mature, fiber-rich banana bark, which is cleaned and sun-dried to preserve its natural texture and prevent mold or decay. The bark is then softened and pressed flat.

It is cut into specific shapes for crafts like trays or coasters. Artisans use weaving or folding techniques to create functional items, which are polished, quality-checked, and packed sustainably for sale or export.

Banana Fiber Stiching Products Training

The process starts by collecting banana pseudostems, typically discarded after harvest. These are cleaned and trimmed before fiber extraction using manual or semi-automatic machines. Extracted fibers are washed, dried, and bundled.
Fibers are softened naturally or with eco-treatments, then spun into yarn for stitching. Skilled artisans craft eco-products like bags and mats, which are then trimmed, quality-checked, and sustainably packaged for sale or export.

Banana Fiber Extraction Training

Learning to select fresh, mature, and disease-free banana pseudostems for quality fiber extraction. The outer layers are peeled manually or mechanically to access the fiber-rich sheaths.

Fibers are extracted using tools or decorticator machines, then thoroughly washed and sun-dried to preserve quality. Finally, fibers are graded, bundled, and prepared for use in eco-products or export.
